Sunday thinking

Friends, do we really think this is true?

That organic food is no good for you?

Nutrition means more than names

Of minerals, chemicals, genetic strains,

But it has lived and breathed

Matters more to my feed

People thrive in open air, green fields

And company of friends.

Memory of where they've been

Etched lines on their skin,

So plants, its not my wish

That I should poison them

Join hands, make a change!

Join hands, make a change!

Obama and Babylon

Reply to Ras Babi

Now see here

And read:

Babylon calls to old adversary

"Sure you have no fear, Barack?

When you gain it all, change it all

Not too scared to fall?

Make a deal with me.

Know peace.

Be free."

Longing

My deepest prayer is that we can meet across

The wide spaces of infinity

Grasp your hand and

Dissolve into unknowing

Save for the sound

Of your breath in my chest.

Finance for a better future

This is significant.

Global finance is paving the way for global governance.

Who would have thought the offspring of Wall St would hold the greatest prospect for World Peace?

Did the hedge fund manager have this in mind when he made his latest arbitrage swoop?

Electronic trading programs factor humanity in their binary?

Or has God found a way to confound us all?

The most mechanical of motions thundering towards our deepest desire.

The invisible hand!

And the billionaire planted it.

Though his billions may not survive the sprouting.

I wonder what else could be growing

Amongst the mechanisms on this beautiful Earth

Consequences we can little see

That horrify

Yet joyfully surprise

When the full bloom comes

Ras Babi

Ras Babi.

The Sudanese prophet.

Makes my heart cry with visions of reality

Tender bites of truth.

Replete with our shame

Heavy with World's sorrow

Understands its infusion with the highest, most noble.

To hold both in the hand surely would burn another.

But Ras Babi stands.

And weeps.

Lalitha Devi

I would like to come back to this again and again.

So I'm putting it here.

It's a description and commentary of a hymn to the Divine Mother - Lalitha Devi - which brings me --still-- when I hear it.

The essence of all creation speaking through her voice, her names ringing out the cry of every particle the universe contains - to reach in a single point - me - collide and reach out again - the wheel of creation - sparks into nowhere, penetrating everywhere.

***

I would like to sing it til my heart bleeds and so rent makes us new - each drop to wake up the foot that walks the Earth but feels burned, afraid to love It.
