Babylon & Beauty
Or rather, it captures, devours and exploits us in our thoughtlessness
And this is Babylon
She is dancing and parading, and you welcome her intrusions,
Flattered by her confidence that you're becoming freer of confusion
You have striven for your sunsets and she has traced your every step,
Only to alter to more convincing desires and concepts when the horizon looks alarmingly out of grip
But now you're getting wise to her cajoling and frustrating,
You see how her dance falters when you start to stop you're thinking,
Now over the night she is walking without speaking
By the midnight pool where she will lay you without loving,
You're left nake,d disappointed and undone
And you'll reflect that she was just an idea,
And it was your idea all along.

And it was your idea all along.
It's all falling into place
It had the feeling of a night he would never forget
It was to be a night of seven teachers
The first took on a studious role
She listened to what he had to say
- Words of wisdom you could hardly imagine! -
But politely placed each pearl aside - her frustrations were beyond such talk at this time
"Come back when I'm ready" she seemed to say
The second was attentive, as she is to all things
But least of all to her self
She oozes power and gentleness
But she cannot see the beauty around her is all of her own making
She beats around the bush
On Cockburn St the third stopped him - huge hug, jangling smile
"I've been thinking about you" she said
Pointing at her eyes then laughing at herself
"But not seeing, thinking."
She giggled down the hill
The fourth was a dustbin bag that tripped him
As he followed a sudden whim to walk backwards to look at the lights, the shops,
The sky settling into night
Outside a South Bridge takeaway sat the fifth
- comatose, curry and chips down her front -
Breathing, silent
"She'll be fine," he said "It's not puke and she's just sleeping"
Inwardly: guesing how he could be so sure
The sixth ignored him then, upon recognition, backed away giggling
"You're very powerful today" she said
"I saw you half way down the Royal Mile.
You were wearing a white woolen jumper with brown on the sleeves."
They kissed, four times, through the conversation.
"You're becoming the man in the Forest." she said "With a river, a wife and two children."
He wondered if the wife might be her and smiled at how unsurprising she had become to him
The seventh sat -reflecting on the short stroll of these lessons
Who had been seen?
Who had been thought of?
Once he had scratched and clawed for this kind of attention
But now he could not be sure that there was a him that this was happening to
Or if there was, he would not be around much longer for him to enjoy
But still there was wisdom in all of it
So why should he not speak it?
And so he began:
"There is not one perfect path our perfect selves are walking
There is only you, NOW,
Perfect and wonderful.
See! there is no catching up to be done
Enjoy your truth
Love ALL your teachers
And make sure you see me for a dance later."

Don't hide behind spirituality
Question: Does it make sense to show one's inner conviction by acting it out, for example by going out on the street and demonstrating against war?
Prajnaparamita: If you feel you have to do, by all means do! Don't even bother whether it makes sense or whether it is useful. If you feel you have to do, do! Go! And again this depends very much from the angle you look. If your heart cries for the situation and you feel you need to do it, go!
Don't sabotage your unfoldment and honesty by hiding behind spiritual concepts like 'everything is perfect' and 'the world is as it should be'.
Do not use spiritual concepts for justification of your behaviour and actions. Be so honest and sincere and be aligned with your heart's truth and with what you have realised in your life right now. Be just honest! Everything at its own place and at its own time. Drop all these spiritual concepts, forget all that you have accumulated in this realm of spirituality. Let's forget it all and look deep into this moment! Live your truth, your highest wisdom, your highest love, your highest compassion! Yours! And not the one from the books! This again is integrity.

Babaji
"I am Existence-Knowledge-Bliss Absolute. I am That by very nature. I cannot be anything else but That, as I am That alone without a beginning and an end. It is My real innate nature. I am the Absolute and Supreme Self, both within and without the finitude. I am Truth, eternal and everlasting. I am the only One, all in Myself. None exists save I, in and through all that exist. I am ever All Existence itself. I am the changeless One in the midst of all changes. I am the Formless in all forms. Change is linked up with form, and form is labeled with change. But I am beyond the two. I am not susceptible to all the ills of the flesh that exist crawling under the feet of form and change. I am the monistic unity, here, there and everywhere and at all times-nay for all times. Where is happiness, except in perfect realization of the One without a second? I feel I am all happiness itself. All Bliss I am. All joy I am.
I shine in the sun and the moon and the stars and the whole universe. I am the sun of suns, shining in the sun up above. I am the crystal light in the sun and virgin purity in the moon. I am the twinkling spark in the stars and the sustaining Principle in the universe. I shine, the sun shines. The sun warmly whispers unto Me of My eternal Presence in it. I am really all Myself in everything – the sun, the moon, the star and the whole cosmos. I am the living ocean of ecstasy that rages wild and surges and storms and levels down the earth and heavens. I send such continuous wave after wave of inarticulate ecstasy into the world drowning deep and scattering all its thoughts and cares. I beat in every breast, see in every eye, throb in every pulse, smile in every flower, shine in the lightning and roar in the thunder. I flutter in the leaves, I hiss in the winds and I roll in the surging seas. I am the Wisdom of the wise, the Strength of the strong and the Heroism of the heroic. I am the very life of Infinity both within and without. I am the One in the all and the All in One. I am the Impersonal Personality of the whole universe."
